My research focuses on finding win-win propositions, i.e., ways to reduce food waste in supply chains while preserving, sometimes even increasing profits for retailers and manufacturers.
Assortment planning is the selection of products in a given product category in order to maximize profits. Related questions include pricing, inventory management, bundling decisions and inventory availability information.
In my work on green vehicle routing, the objective function is to minimize cost which includes a penalty for greenhouse gases emissions while satisfying constraints on deliver schedules.
